8 Years Of Failure
You know him for his blockbuster movies.
He has made some of the most famous and greatest movies of all time.
Pulp Fiction. Reservoir Dogs. Inglorious Bastards… to name a few.
He has so many hits if you looked up the word ‘Success’ in a dictionary you could see his face.
But did you know Quentin had 8 long years of FAILING…
…before having breakthrough success?
Eight years of trying to make something happen but as he said “nothing was working out.”
Failure after failure after failure.
Working in a movie store, getting paid $200 for years, trying to fund his creative projects.
Flop after flop.
Then one day, shortly before Quentin started to direct a little known movie called Reservoir Dogs, he had a chance conversation with a renowned Hollywood legend, Terry Gilliam.
Terry wrote massive hits including Monty Python and the Holy Grail and The Meaning of Life.
Quentin, by good fortune, ended up getting a few minutes alone with Terry at a movie festival. He jumped at his chance to find out what makes the difference between success and failure, when it comes to bringing your vision to life on the big screen.
Terry’s answer changed Quentin’s thinking forever.
It demystifies what you need to do anytime you have a vision in your mind and you want to bring it to life.
When you combine this distinction with the power to influence and enrol others – you can’t help but be far more successful.
