A Master Of Change

Think of your favourite chocolate or treat.


Now imagine it's there directly in front of you.


Close your eyes and inhale through your nose as you see it directly in front of you in your mind's eye. You can practically smell the chocolate and taste it.


Perhaps you've already noticed your mouth beginning to water in anticipation.


So if someone offered you your favourite chocolate right now could you resist?


Well if you can, well done. You've demonstrated you can resist temptation. A useful life skill.


For some people it's easy to resist the temptation they can see.


But what about all the temptations you "don't see"?


Temptations aren't the only forces that impact your life.


There are many other forces that show up every day in your environment, your relationships, the structures you find yourself moving through etc. that play a powerful role in your behaviour.


The thing is... most people are unaware of the patterns that control their life.


So they do what they did before... and sure enough get the same results they've always got.


The cycle continues over and over again... often for years and decades.


When you can't see the patterns that control you, you can't change them.


Perhaps the most under utilised resource in all of personal development is... the skill of awareness.


Observing what the heck is going on.


When you want to change any area of your life, if you want:


... to lose weight


... get a better body


... have more energy


... feel really alive

... make a ton of money

... begin a new relationship


... be a better parent


... have the 'dream life'


... etc.


Rather than reach for a new book or course, take some time to meaningfully answer:


"What patterns are directing and controlling this area of my life?"


There will be patterns of


• context


• time


• thought


• behavior


• emotion


and frequently patterns of


• structure


• environment


• social (other participants in the system e.g. friends, family, colleagues)


• etc.


That interplay to create the results you are seeing.


Figure out how the game operates and very quickly you'll be able to shape and influence it to your desire.


You see, every situation or circumstance that you currently have (that you're not happy about) and every area of your life you want to change has a specific set of patterns that keep the outcomes you're getting in play.


When you introduce some awareness to how the results come about, you open up the door to creating change that is quick and can stick.


Because you'll know which lever to pull to stop the system from producing the results one way and start creating the kind of outcomes you want in your life, with surprisingly little effort for the return.


You'll move from feeling like you're forever at the effects of situation and circumstance to knowing you can change how the game is played.


To be at cause.


To create the life, you want.


With awareness as your ally - you'll be well on your way to becoming a master of change.
